Home!

I am back home! My monitor, which I bought in a flush period for gaming, is freaking gigantic. I was using a hand-me-down laptop with a small screen at my parent's. Now I see why my wife used to say she felt like my monitor was shouting at her.

I have the rather ludicrous handgun I habitually carry back on my hip; I've been used to this as a constant companion for about 17 years, and I missed it. It was illegal where I was. It's part of my extremely prepared persona, like the Swisstool or the lighter (though I don't smoke).

The dogs are back on the sofa; they weren't allowed on any furniture at my parent's. (Here they have a sofa and one armchair besides dog beds.)

I have been thinking of indulging my exhibitionism by posting a picture of my face, and my paranoia by deleting it after about a week. Any of my friends who read this blog would know who I am anyway; how many Christians got divorced and broke their necks in Aikido in the same time period? So, I ask for advice; any repercussions you can think of that I can't?

  1. Hmmm. My first thought was that I always hear of people getting fired because of HR finding personal things about them on the internet, but you don't have an employer and if you did they'd have to search you out by name.

And if your friends know about this blog already, there's nothing to lose there...

And if you posted a pic and took it down after a week, there's maybe a billion-to-one chance that someone will stumble on your blog, see the pic, and go "OMG I know that guy! I see him in the grocery store sometimes!" and then that stranger will know a lot of really personal stuff about you (if they actually read the blog - a surprising number of people are not really "readers" and only scan stuff for pics).

So...I think this is basically risk-free. And I'd like to see what you look like (because I am a voyeur). But of course that's up to you.

  2. My friends don't know about it, but there's certainly enough personal material here that they would recognize me immediately anyway. So, yeah, I'm thinking it's pretty much risk-free.

And I'd like to see what you look like (because I am a voyeur). I know what you mean, I'm always curious about what people I read look like. Unfortunately I'm pretty much the opposite of your preferences. :( Otherwise I'd say send me an E-mail and I'd see if I could compose something a bit more interesting.

PurrrrrrROWR. :D I appreciate the thought!

I have a perverse urge to email you pics of my hideous, hideous tattoos and see if I can change your mind about body art. I realize that this is immature and unfair; after all, it's a preference, not a value judgment.

  4. ...I mean, you've never actually said that tattoos are hideous or that being tattooed says something negative about someone's character. You mostly only said a tattooed person seems "less naked", which I completely understand.

And I agree that portraits of one's mom or of Jesus' suffering are maybe not something people want to see during sex. :D

  5. Yeah, if I thought tattoos said something bad about someone's character, I wouldn't want to change the preference. It's just a reaction, not an idea; having art on one's skin, even if it's beautiful art, makes one seem less naked to me. I would like to change it because I don't like senseless preferences narrowing an already narrow field of potential mates.

Actually the it's not so much that I don't ever like tattoos; they trigger the CFNM submissive kink, and if I were the hooking up kind I wouldn't mind a bit. It's that being a switch not a submissive I wouldn't want to spend my life with someone who triggered that even when she was naked.

  6. So you won't change my mind if you send me pictures of your tattoos, but you're welcome to if you feel like it. ;)

  7. Add small but powerful flashlight and you'll match Stingray's bat-belt.

    Prepared is A Good Thing.

  8. LabRat, that wasn't a complete list. Also a Surefire 6P, a firesteel, a Kershaw Shallot, a pressurized-cartridge space pen, handkerchief, an external battery for my Blackberry, Blackberry with local copy of Wikipedia, and Bluetooth headset, besides the usual wallet, comb, keys. Also the Swisstool is the Swisstool Plus Ratchet with a set of bits. My pants probably weigh seven pounds as is, and I forgot to put in the usual spare 15-round magazine today. I normally have a pretty unattractive bulge of pocket-junk around my hips. If you ever comment about Stingray's collection of stuff, know it could be worse. ;)

  9. So, now I have to actually take a picture of myself I like; my arm's-length-picture-fu is bad, so I'll wait until I can get a battery for the camera remote.

Hey, this is exactly what Wonderboy says! I've always wanted a tattoo, on and off, but never really got a meaningful enough idea... and Wonderboy really sees skins as more beautiful, so. I'm probably not gonna have any.

Just now realized you pondered posting the pic earlier, Mousie! Wise move. Is there a little bit of a exhibitionist in you, also?

  11. Rouge Bambi, here's the tattoo post if you'd like to read it. BTW, I love henna and temporary tattoos.

There's a lot of exhibitionist. The primary thing that keeps me from posting nude shots is that I don't think anybody wants to see them. If I thought I could make someone happy that way, I'm not really sure what I'd do; because there certainly would be some fear involved.
