A blog about sex, and whatever other things I'm inclined to talk about, by an abstinent male Christian. Sex is great, though I can't have any now.

One of the joys of being intentionally single
Wednesday night I found one of the joys of being intentionally single. I went to a club in Philadelphia with friends which had a floor playing my favorite type of music to dance to (e.g. The Prodigy - Funky Shit). The joy was, dancing like an idiot without caring what you look like. I was not there to impress anyone, and dancing is a lot more fun if you don't give a fuck.

Sometimes when you don't care if you impress anyone else is when you really impress someone else, or at least you really have fun.
ReplyDeleteIt's conceivable that I may have impressed someone else. I did see someone else dancing with lack of care, and told her I really liked her style. But, it's unlikely I'll find out if I impressed anyone; my dance moves are cribbed from my Kung Fu moves, and no one gets too close. I was told once that I look kind of angry and goofy. Regardless, I really had fun, and that was the point.
ReplyDeleteI love dancing like you don't give a shit. :) Best kind of dancing ever.
ReplyDeleteI figure that dancing is one of those areas where you can make up for lack of talent with sheer enthusiasm. This is also a good method for sex and playing music, but I feel it would fail in certain other fields, such as brain surgery.
Ozymandias, I agree on all points, though in many cases my agreement is theoretical. (I find enthusiasm a much more attractive concept than talent in sex, but I'll never have a chance to compare.) And the brain surgery one really made me laugh. It makes me think of the Gumby Brain Specialist from Monty Python.
